Paramount Skydance Plans to Eliminate Around 2,000 US Jobs – Update

Skydance Paramount plans to start mass layoffs the week of 27 October, cutting about 2,000 US jobs within a cost-cutting plan valued at $2bn under top executive David Ellison.

These job cuts come after the union of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed in August worth $8.4bn.

Additional global layoffs are expected, with Paramount Skydance intending to disclose all specifics in its third-quarter financial update set for the 10th of November.

Previous updates stated the firm planned to reduce between 2,000 and 3,000 roles by the beginning of next month.

By December 2024, the company had about 18,600 full- and part-time employees plus 3,500 temporary project employees.

Paramount Skydance has not yet commented to a request for comment.
